'Premium' Species?

Recently I got rejected for a character trade because they paid a total of $40 for their species, and a majority of mine are well under a dollar. (Their words.)

Are you telling me if I charged a fortune and a half people would actually pay that for them?
Does charging more than morally possible make the species 'exclusive' or 'premium'?

I don't feel right charging people an arm and a leg for my species, I never did.
I keep my prices low so they can find good owners, and I won't feel bad about stealing their money.

I'm not saying I think my species aren't worth anything, I just can't, in any good conscience, force people to break their bank because of one stupid creature they will most likely get tired of and try to re sell.
(Which, I would like to point out, is illegal as stated in my TOS; no creature may be traded, gifted or resold due to un interest. They revert back to my ownership.)

I want my species to be enjoyed and loved by anyone who likes the design; NOT just for those rich enough to spend a small fortune to own them, then lord them over everyone else.
"Look at me!! I just paid $80 for a species I kinda-sorta like! I can afford buying frivolous characters I'll never use and tire of after a few weeks!'

Or, Like I sad, lord it over others. "I got an EXCLUCIVE species! It looks kinda like that one, but it's SPECIAL!"

No, my species will never get the massive, insane following of the so called 'exclusive species', but I love mine nonetheless. I love my creatures, and I want everyone to have the opportunity to love them as well.

I want everyone to have the opportunity to own something they love at an affordable price; one that won't leave them scrounging for food money.

So I will continue to make affordable, adorable creatures that everyone can enjoy, regardless of social standing.

This might make my species seem 'cheap' because I won't make people break their bank to own something I know they'll eventually tire of, then so be it.

Let the people who actually care about the species I own join, and get their own; and the people who think they're cheap? Go find something else to spend money on.

I will continue to do this because I love it; I love making new patterns and designs for my critters, if I can get some extra watchers and a few cents on the dollar for making them? Sweet, icing on the cake,  but I make art because  I love it.

This is the vow of the club - to make cute, awesome, adorable creatures at an affordable price.
